'It’s hard to escape the beauty trap in today’s world. Tall, thin, gorgeous models with long black hair, staring out of magazines are hard to live up to; but impossible to ignore. Moreover, the pressure to comply with these beauty ideals comes from external, traditional and societal factors. Let’s change society\'s view that beauty is in our appearance and remind the world that comes from within! This is our first step into capturing modern portraiture and experience the practical field learning of hi-fashion. This workshop gave a platform to understand modern portraiture in fashion connecting with those behind this project and get to know them and start embracing and practicing the skills in photography which is more relevant to hi-fashion ABOUT THE MENTOR Everyone’s definition of beauty is different. As for Madhuri, she has always believed that beauty as an art form can be found in the most unconventional faces and places around the world. As an established model and actress, she had various opportunities to work with some of the greatest creative minds in the South Indian cinema. Soon after she realised my love for photography, she decided to attain professional training in the pursuit to capture everything that appeals to my eyes and make it last forever. Therefore, she completed an advanced photography course from ace photographer and Dada Saheb Phalke award-winner, Mr Jayesh Sheth.Today, she is here to create an image that conceals a moment and conveys a story without using words. I am here to create art out of beauty that I see around me, both conventional and unconventional. As they say, an artist is an explorer, and she is here to explore this world through her lens.
